Sankalpa – When Your Soul Speaks

From Vritti to Dharma: How I Discovered My True Sankalpa

In yoga, we often hear the word Sankalpa – usually in the context of Yoga Nidra, meditation, or personal intentions. But Sankalpa is so much more than a short affirmation or a positive thought. It is a deep remembering of who you truly are. It is the voice of your soul.

Vritti Sankalpa – a wish from the mind

A Vritti Sankalpa arises from the vrittis – the mental waves and movements of the mind. It often expresses something we want to change or strengthen in our lives:

  • “I choose more calm in my everyday life.”

  • “I want to treat myself with more compassion.”

  • “I commit to inner strength.”

This type of Sankalpa reflects your current phase in life. It can guide you and help you refocus with clarity and intention.

Dharma Sankalpa – the call of your soul

A Dharma Sankalpa goes much deeper. It doesn’t come from the mind. It arises from a deep inner knowing – a sense of truth that cannot be explained, only felt.It is your soul’s calling. Your why. Your essence.

For me, this realization came softly, yet with absolute clarity:

"I want to be a light."

A light that inspires others, supports them, and helps them remember their own strength, their truth, their radiance. When I say these words, there’s a deep stillness inside me. It just feels right. Not because I decided it – but because it feels like something my soul whispered to me.

You can’t force it – you can only remember

You can’t think your way to a Dharma Sankalpa. It’s not something you figure out – it’s something you remember. It’s already within you, waiting to be felt.

Sometimes it comes in quiet moments. In words. In dreams. In goosebumps. You might feel it in nature. Or in a deep moment of yoga or meditation.

Trust that feeling – even if you can’t explain it yet. It’s like a golden thread that leads you home to your true self.

💫 What is your Sankalpa?

You might start with a Vritti Sankalpa – something supportive for your current life. Or maybe you already feel your Dharma Sankalpa clearly. Both are beautiful. Both are part of the journey.

I’m here to walk with you – through Yoga, Sound Healing, Reiki, and Coaching – as you reconnect with your own light. Because it’s already there.✨
